Last week was quite productive. I finished one block and two sections for my POD.
This block took 6.5 hours to make. The green and silver tie is for Slytherin House. The green is a nice emerald green (DS's birthstone) and the silver has some nice glittery bits in it
I spent an incredible amount of time lining up the striped fabric on the lower 3 books, and almost no time pinning the yellow fabric. Look at the areas I circled. That yellow fabric is perfectly aligned! How did that happen? I can only suggest that since this is a Harry Potter Quilt, it must have been magic.
This wand took 2 hours and 50 minutes DS turns wood and one of his favourite woods to turn is bloodwood. I choose this fabric because it's the closest colour I could find.
I did a lot of research this week as well. I didn't track the hours but it consumed a good portion of the weekend. I now have an extensive list of blocks I would like to include in this quilt. Now I need to figure out how to fit everything in without having it too big.
Note: The patterns for this quilt are all free at Fandom in Stiches under the Harry Potter tab.
